Otter Island Sailing Adventure: Scenic Low Country Cruise
An all day (8 hour) private sailing adventure for up to 6 guests with an incredible destination.
After a 2 hour sail through the beautiful Morgan river and St. Helena Sound where frequent dolphin encounters are almost a guarantee, we'll arrive at the remote and uninhabited Otter Island.
Otter Island is a 2,000 acre barrier Island part of the St. Helena Sound Preserve and boasts beautiful beaches on 3 sides.
Otter Island is in the middle of the ACE Basin, "One of the last great places on Earth" as described by The Nature Conservancy. To learn more about the unique area where this adventure takes place we encourage conducting an internet search of Otter Island SC and the ACE Basin.
We will anchor the Liahona out in deep water just off shore and take the 11 foot Zodiac tender onto the beach. Enjoy 2-3 hours of exploring, shelling or just relaxing on miles of beach that you often have all to yourself, except for the occasional deer or pod of dolphins that pass by.
We return home via the Coosaw river for a change of scenery, making a complete loop around Morgan Island (famous for it's many rhesus monkeys that we occasionally get to see).
The boat has a full kitchen, bathroom, freshwater outdoor shower to rinse off the sand and salt and even comfortable births below if you need to rest on the return trip. Cold bottled water is provided and available at all times.
Guests should pack their own bag lunch, snacks and any other desired beverages which we can keep cold in the boat's refrigerator or your welcome to bring your own cooler.
Group Size & Age: This charter can accommodate a group size of up to 6 people. This adventure is available for all ages, but some dexterity and balance is required to board the Zodiac dinghy for the shore trip and therefore may not be appropriate for everyone.
